Dichotomy Day

Yes it is my big word for the day.  You see I am sad today as Hillary has returned back to Texas and is no longer up in this cold snowy country with us.  But on the other hand I am excited and very joyful as tonight is New Years Eve.  I know this sounds lame but my tradition has been to stay at home watch movies and eat chips, dips, vegetables and etc. to greet the new year.  I am not changing tradition and will do so again today.  So may all my family, friends, and followers (well everybody that reads this) have a very SAFE and Happy New Year!!!!

It has been a busy couple of days a lot of excitement at work for one.  Getting Hillary ready to go home and yes I even went shopping for a whole day with her.  By the way did you know you are not allowed to take photographs in stores...  The things you learn so I have no record of the event.  I know sad for yall but hey I actually did it and have the receipts to prove it.

Okay on to the good stuff.  I told yall earlier of my shoot with the largest group ever in the history of photography okay it wasn't but hey it was 33 people.  I have not met with the family yet and shown them the pictures that will occur this weekend, but here is a little taste of the fun that we had.  It was a great and fun time enjoyed by all frozen toes included.  Just as a word of warning these shots are not the best I wanted to save those for the family to see first.  Secondly these are all raw and unfinished in other words no post processing (photoshop) has been applied yet.  My goal is to one day have the tools be it computer and knowledge to be able to really get in the darkroom so to say and polish these photos up.

This is the M family they were a lot of fun to work with as they all smiled even though it was freezing cold.

Economic times are hard we were very fortunate to have this family join us.  I am very grateful as this shot would not have been possible without them here.

I am sad to say this was not my idea.  It was actually orchestrated by one of the sisters I think and I am not positive they even knew I was shooting at the time.  It turned out great in spite of the photographers flaws.

Yes I am a photographer so if you stand around expect to get your picture taken.  B here did just that during a lull in the fun.

This is what makes being a photographer fun.  Enjoyed the shoot even with the cold!

Christmas Day

Wow what a fun day yesterday.  I hope yall enjoyed the pictures.  It has been a blast having Hillary spend some time up here with me and her friends.  Christmas is a hard holiday for me as I think the commercial side of it is way to prominent.  Christmas was meant to be with family and friends and enjoy each others company.  That is what Hillary and I did.  There are not a lot of photos of presents as the best present I had this year was Hillary's visit.  It has been awesome.  I did capture a few shots for you to see.

Yes we waited for Santa...

All this way and she decides to text...

Okay if you can't beat them at least show me what you are doing!

Okay if I understand this correctly you have to do all that to even send a message.  Isn't it easier to just call?

Ah the Christmas feast grilled steaks, peas and mushrooms, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, salad, croissants, and washed it all down with Big Red.  Awesome meal for an awesome season.  Merry Christmas everyone and always remember the reason for this season.
